27 May 2023 Ride

Winter has certainly closed in resulting with cold and wet weather which we have to contend with for the next couple of months. We just have to rug up appropriately to ride. Safety must not be forgotten. Please have your batteries charges and light on for their ride. We will be starting from Yarragon, departing at 8am – being the last Saturday of May.

The forecast for Saturday is for a partly cloudy day with a high chance of showers near Wilsons Promontory, medium chance elsewhere. Snow falling above 1400 metres. Winds northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h. Overnight temperatures falling to between 3 and 7 with daytime temperatures reaching between 9 and 15.

20 May 2023 Ride

Forecast to be cold and wet tomorrow. As usual and being positive there might be a short window of reasonable weather for a ride. Come prepared. It will be coffee and a chin wag if it is too inclement. Hopefully we will be able to set of at 8am for our Darnum venue.

13 May 2023 Ride

No rain predicted but a foggy morning and light winds. It’s Darnum as usual setting off at 8am. A few of us are lucky to be warming their feet in the northern hemisphere. We wish them an enjoyable and safe trip and look forward to their travel tales when they return. To the mothers have Happy Mother’s Day on Sunday.

6 may 2023 Ride

Forecast for tomorrow is for a cold wet morning. Being positive ,there might be a window of reasonable for a ride however short it might be. Come prepared for a cold wet morning Otherwise, it will be coffee and a chinwag instead.

Forecast to be cloudy tomorrow with very high chance of rain. Snow falling above 800 metres. The chance of a thunderstorm in the southwest in the late afternoon and evening. Possible small hail from the late morning. Winds west to northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h tending west to southwesterly before dawn then becoming light early in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 5 and 9 with daytime temperatures reaching between 9 and 13.

29 April 2023 Ride

Yes, tomorrow will be last the Saturday of April. This means we will be starting at 8am from Yarragon if the weather holds out for us. Come prepared for all weather eventualities with batteries charges and light on.

Saturday is forecast to be partly cloudy with high chance of showers, most likely in the early morning. Snow falling above 1500 metres. Light winds. Overnight temperatures falling to between 6 and 9 with daytime temperatures reaching between 11 and 17.

22 April 2023 Ride

Cool but dry weekend. Hopefully the weather Gods will be kind and keep it this way. It’s Darnum departing at 8am. Ian unfortunately will be away all weekend so will not be able to join you on your ride. Please ride carefully and safely.

By the way, there is a 63km ride starting and ending in Korumburra on Sunday. It is the course the Lions Ride for Sight had to cancel because of the weather. The three sisters and others who road in the RFS event will be riding this stage on Sunday. I would love to ride but am away. I encourage you to join in as there willl be at least two electric bikes. The ride starts from the Korumburra Basket Ball Centre, Charles Street and will depart at 9:30am. There will be a short brunch / coffee break at Koonwarra before returning to Korumburra. The three sisters ate Leesa, Kerry and Sharon Willmont (not sure about their married names). Everyone is welcomed.

8 April 2023 Ride

Forecast for wet stormy weather tomorrow. Will ride depending on the window allowing us to ride. nevertheless Ian will be at Darnum ready to ride. Depart at 8am if weather permits.

It will be cloudy with very high chance of showers. Snow falling above 1500 metres. Winds westerly 25 to 40 km/h. Overnight temperatures falling to between 9 and 13 with daytime temperatures reaching between 13 and 19.

1 April 2023 Ride

First day of April is forecast to be a breezy, a little cool and cloudy and may be a little damp. Let’s hope there will be a clear window for our ride. 8am depart from Darnum. Suit up for a cool morning. By the way, daylight savings starts on Sunday where we will have an extra hours sleep.

Winds west to southwesterly 15 to 20 km/h tending south to southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the evening. 25 March 2023 Ride

Summer is slowly drawing to a close with less daylight and cooler days. Tomorrow morning will cool and cloudy but at least it will be a dry day. It the last Saturday of March so we will start from Yarragon departing at 8am. Please have your batteries charged and lights, both front and rear switched on for the ride.

Keep off the road whenever we stop to regroup. We must keep the roadway free and open to passing traffic. Your cooperation will be noticed and appreciated.

18 March 2023 Ride

It will be a hot and windy day tomorrow. Temperatures will reach 34 deg C according to the forecasters. Hopefully the early part of the morning will be reasonably cool for us to enjoy our ride. It will definitely be a slip slop and slap occasion with liberal application of fly repellant.

Lights on please and ride considerately. Set an example as good riding citizens by keeping off the sealed surface whenever we stop to regroup.
