25 June 2016 Ride

Time has certainly flown. It’s not only the last Saturday of the month but also the last Saturday for the first part of 2016. We are certainly in the grips of winter especially with the weather today – windy freezing, rainy with hail.

As Brandy Creek Winery is still under refurbishment we will start our ride from Yarragon, departing at 8am. There will be a still shorter course for those who do not want the challenge of the longer course. Meet at the carpark at the rear of the shops. Hopefully the weather will be much better than the last few days. In any case rug up!

Tomorrow will be partly cloudy with areas of morning frost about the ranges. Medium (40%) chance of showers in the morning and afternoon. Snow possible above 700 metres. Possible hail in the early morning. Winds west to southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h tending west to northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h in the late afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between minus 1 and 5 above zero with daytime temperatures reaching between 6 and 13.

18 June Ride

Might be a little cloudy and damp but it shouldn’t bother us during the ride. It’s Darnum for an 8am depart. Usual course and groups. There will be several new riders with us for the ride so please make them welcome.

For your and our on road safety please have your batteries charged and have your rear lights on.

Propose the ride be a longish one but at a steady pace riding the Westbury Araluan Road circuit (approximately 65+km). Those wanting a shorter course could turn around at several points along the way.

The weather promise to be good albeit a little cool as compared to earlier this weekend. Fog and areas of frost in the morning, locally severe. Sunny afternoon. Winds north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h. Overnight temperatures falling to between minus 2 and 3 above zero with daytime temperatures reaching between 10 and 15.

11 June 2016 Ride

Trust the weather of late has is not been hampering our rides. It appears the weekend might not be any better as the forecast for Saturday is for a cloudy day and unfortunately with a high (70%) chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening. Winds east to northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h becoming light in the early afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 4 and 8 with daytime temperatures reaching between 11 and 16.
