28 October 2023 Ride

Last Saturday of the month so as per usual we will start from Yarragon leaving by 8am. It will be cool and slightly breezy. At least it is not predicted to rain.

Ian will be involved in the Lions District 201V3 Convention in Warragul for the weekend and will not be able to join you on the ride. Nevertheless have a n enjoyable and safe ride.

Saturday will be partly cloudy with winds east to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h turning north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h early in the morning then tending northwest to southwesterly in the late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 4 and 7 with daytime temperatures reaching between 17 and 24.

21 October 2023 Ride

Saturday morning’s weather promised to continue with the type of mild weather we have had over the last few days before cracking up. Ride to commence from Darnum at 8am. Please have your lights on and ride safely as a group looking after each other. Coffee after at the Stump’s General Store.

It will be cloudy with high chance of showers in the south, medium chance elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm, possibly severe. Winds east to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h tending northwest to northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning then tending northwest to southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h in the early afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 11 and 15 with daytime temperatures reaching 21 to 28.

14 October 2023 Ride

Our Site is back on line, thanks to Kristen for seeing Jason Tubnor to re estate our site. Jason has very kindly and unconditionally let us use his WordPress site.

It is forecast to be wet and quite windy tomorrow morning so it may not be conducive for a ride BUT there may be a window when the rain could hold off for a short ride. Come prepared for all eventualities. Please have your batteries charged before the ride and lights on.

It is forecast to be cloudy with high chance of showers in the west, medium chance elsewhere. Winds westerly 35 to 50 km/h. Overnight temperatures falling to between 7 and 11 with daytime temperatures reaching between 13 and 19.

7 October Ride

A cool but hopefully a dry morning for our Ride from Darnum. Please have your batteries charged and have your lights, both front and back on for the ride. Depart at 8am.

It will be cloudy according to the forecast with patches of frost about the ranges in the early morning. Light winds becoming south to southwesterly 15 to 20 km/h in the middle of the day then becoming light in the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 1 and 6 with daytime temperatures reaching between 12 and 16.

16 September 2023 Ride

A little cool start for the start of the day but quickly warming up by mid morning. Sunshine has been promised with a little wind. Depart from Darnum at 8am.

It is forecast to be sunny with winds northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h. Overnight temperatures falling to between 7 and 10 with daytime temperatures reaching between 19 and 26.

9 September 2023 Ride – inclement forecast

It’s been very windy and wet most of Friday and it is forecast to be similar tomorrow with high winds and cold temperatures. Given this prediction it might be best to call off the ride. Think positive. Use the extra time for a much needed sleep in.

West and South Gippsland area

Cloudy. Very high chance of showers in the west, high chance elsewhere. Snow falling above 700 metres. Possible small hail in the morning and afternoon. Winds westerly 25 to 35 km/h turning northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h in the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 1 and 5 with daytime temperatures reaching between 8 and 14.

Better weather with a cool frosty morning getting sunny later is forecast for tomorrow. Dress appropriately. Depart from Darnum at 8am.

Thanks to Lyndon’s persistence with the organisers it is pleasing to report the 10 day Japanese Cycling trip is materialising. We now have around 14 potential DSR riders registering for the trip.

19 August 2023 Ride

The freezing weather over the last few days are turning to be quite a damp one tomorrow, especially in the morning. Hopefully there will be a window of opportunity for a small weather break for a ride. Prepare for a damp ride. Coffee if it will be too wet. It’s still in Darnum for a 8am set off.

By the way, Kirsten, who some of you have met previously has a ride team called Cranked Up and invites those interested to participate in the 100km Around the Bay in the Day event as part of her team on Sunday 8 August 2023. 12 August 2023 Ride

Although rain is forecast tomorrow it is not expected to arrive until latter in the day. Morning temperature is slated to be a reasonable 10 deg C so let’s take advantage of the morning for a ride. Depart at 8am from Darnum. Please have you lights on for your and our safety.

The BOM map shows a continuous group of shower cells passing through. It will be a wet ride I’d say, so I will turn up for coffee instead.
